Privacy Policy for Usage Meter for Grok

Effective date: 18 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app Usage Meter for Grok (package ch.castellon.grok.usage, “the App”) handles information. The App is developed by Antonio Castellon (Castellon.CH), “we” or “us”. It is an unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by xAI.

In short: the App has no server of its own. It sends nothing to us. It shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking.

1. What the App does

The App shows the usage figures from your Grok dashboard after you sign in. Sign-in opens xAI's own grok.com / accounts.x.ai page inside the App. The App then reads the usage text that the dashboard page already shows you, and it asks grok.com for your Grok Bot usage figure within the same signed-in session. It does not invent usage numbers.

2. What stays on your device

The saved figures, account label, and settings are kept in the App's private storage and are excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.

3. Connections made while you use the App

When the dashboard or sign-in page loads, your phone connects directly to xAI (grok.com, accounts.x.ai) and to the sign-in providers that page offers (for example Google, X, Apple, or GitHub), under your own account. That traffic is covered by those services' own policies, for example xAI's: https://x.ai/legal/privacy-policy. Links to your billing and invoice pages open on grok.com in your browser. A shortcut can open the Grok app if it is installed.

All connections use HTTPS. Unencrypted connections are disabled in the App.

4. What the App does not do

5. Permissions

6. Retention and deletion

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the App's data handling changes and revise the effective date above.
